OUR MISSION
To construct, maintain, and operate camps, playgrounds and recreational facilities for the promotion of the spiritual, mental and physical welfare of the children and other persons residing in Troup County and the adjoining territory.
Camp Viola provides camps for youth throughout the summer months for the purpose of giving them the opportunity to experience various outdoor activities as well as Spiritual enrichment. Camp Viola is a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization.
Register a child for camp:
Summer camps are sponsored by numerous local Churches of varying denominations and are facilitated by both Camp Viola staff and Church volunteers. Parents may choose to:
Register an eligible child through a local elementary school that has partnered with a church. Forms should be completed by the child’s parent(s) and turned in to the school’s Guidance Counselor. In addition, many of the Churches partner with local elementary schools to assist in identifying children that would be eligible to participate in a summer camp as defined by the Camp Viola Mission Statement.
Every year the available slots for camp fill up very quickly. As that occurs the Camp Viola Director initiates a “waiting list” where children’s names eligible for a week at camp are placed and selected for a week at camp as “slots” become available. In most cases we are able to match a child with an opening at one of the camps if we have been made aware of the child’s desire to go to camp.
